ABOUT Kim's studio

Kim Matthews is a twenty-five year resident of Tallahassee who began a career in the beauty business with her mother, Anita Coppedge, twenty years ago. In December of 1988, they opened their first salon, Reflections of You, and two years later, acquired the Florida School of Nail Technology. They operated as a salon during the day and taught classes in the evening. In addition to nails, they soon expanded to offer full cosmetology services, including hair, skin care and nails. Today, their school, renamed North Florida Cosmetology Institute, is a bee hive of activity where students are taught how to become professional personal care providers in the lucrative beauty business.

 

Fifteen years ago, an opportunity to add permanent cosmetic make-up to her growing list of beauty credentials was one that Kim could not pass up. Permanent make-up was in its infancy then.

Today, it is a thriving new industry. In 1998, Kim began training classes in permanent make-up. Her students benefit from her ongoing experience, and learn the very latest techniques in permanent make-up together with training on all facets of how to be a successful Intradermal Pigmentation Specialist.
